About Goyu shuku
Goyu shuku is the accommodation base for travelers located 35th from Nihonbashi.
There were 60 inn's, and it was close to the next accommodation base “Akasaka-juku” and competition for attracting customers was intense.
At dusk, a woman called "Tomeonna" forcibly pulled the arms and sleeves of the traveler and led them to the inn.
The ukiyo-e of Utagawa Hiroshige draws the appearance of that time humorously.
